Upcoming training and events are on the SWFLN Continuing Education Calendar.

SWFLN offers a diverse range of workshops and webinars to help library staff and volunteers develop professional skills in the areas of technology, management, leadership, communications, library operations, and more. Our programs are led by industry and academic professionals. SWFLN’s Continuing Education events are open to all SWFLN and FLIN members as well as their volunteers. The comprehensive training program at SWFLN consists of the following components:

SWFLN enjoys the service of many of its members who provide guidance and advice by participating on the Continuing Education Committee. The committee meets monthly and advises SWFLN on topics and the various training needs of its member library staff.

Florida Library Webinars / Statewide Webinar Program
Florida Library Webinars is a program of the Florida Department of State, Division of Library and Information Services. Florida Library Webinars provides training for staff working in all Florida libraries. Their training is focused on technology skills, customer service, and other personal and professional development. Live training is available most weekdays and recorded content is available on-demand.

Florida Library Webinars is funded under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, administered by the Florida Department of State, Division of Library and Information Services, and managed by the Tampa Bay Library Consortium.

Florida Electronic Library (FEL)
The Florida Electronic Library (FEL) is a gateway to electronic magazines, newspapers, almanacs, encyclopedias, books, and the Ask a Librarian reference service.

Florida Library Training
The Florida Department of State, Division of Library and Information Services is the designated information resource provider for the Florida Legislature and all state agencies. It also coordinates and helps to fund activities of public libraries; provides a framework for statewide library initiatives; provides archival and records management services; and preserves, collects, and makes available the published and unpublished documentary history of the State.
